The Electrician Medina WA Calls To Solve Circuit Malfunctions

I love a good murder mystery, and when you find dead outlets or such at your house, I'll welcome the case. I have been specializing strictly in this troubleshooting since 1997. Before that I was gaining plenty of experience wiring and rewiring Eastside homes -- since I entered the trade in 1977.
If you like, you can get a sense of me personally at my story. For better detail of the kinds of work I will take on, see this Eastside Troubleshooter page. There was a piece on good licensed electrical contractors on KOMO that included me.

What I Cost

I come to Medina for $50. While I am working to diagnose and repair your problem, we add $1.00 per minute. Since the average job takes me 40 minutes, you are likely to get by for under $100 for this electrician, Medina. If the problem is not being resolved as quickly as expected, I would confer with you then about the prospects and options.

My Availability

Normally I would come to your home Mon.-Fri. between 9am-5pm. To schedule, I am easily reached in person at 425-333-4400 Mon.-Sat. 7am-9pm.

Is Do-It-Yourself in Your Blood?

Many people around the country (1500/day) avail themselves of my troubleshooting website. You might consider this if you suspect the problem is something very simple.

Circuit Cases in Medina WA

Older House on Rambling Lane. Some lighting circuits in a home are extensive enough that when they go out, it seems like "half the house is out." That is how many people describe that situation to me over the phone. This homeowner had a less common problem, however. His house's power was half out! From testing at his panel I determined that half of the 240 volts coming from the utility was missing. Outdoors I saw that a wire in the overhead line from PSE had been worn through by a branch it passed by. Besides a tree's growth, its motion from wind can contribut to this kind of thing. We called PSE to make that repair. (I'm sure they told the owner to get the tree pruned back too.) When much of your electrical system is in malfuntion mode is is not always clear whether to call an electrician, Medina, or whether to call the utility. Toss a coin?

The Trash Masher on Overlake Drive. Jack's garbage compactor was out of commission. I don't remember if he had had an appliance person look at it before calling me. I also do not remember if he had tried resetting circuit breakers. A compactor is likely to have its own dedicated circuit or perhaps to share with just a disposal. When we pulled the appliance out, though, my tester showed that the hot wire (from the breaker, in other words) was fine. So the problem had to be due to a connection of the neutral wire somewhere. Opening the breaker panel cover, I soon found a neutral that was discolored from the heat of a loose connection. Upon repairing that, it proved to have been the perpetrator, as we detectives say. Another 98039 mystery solved by this electrician, Medina.
